new woman by suzanneas-lebanon beirut

This piece i wrote originally in arabic and it’s a gift to all arab women and every woman…freedom is in the air and it starts by freeing women all women…

A new woman…

 Every moment I’m reborn….

 A new woman…

 I ripped up my veil….

 I broke up my bonds…

 And wrapped you around me…

Nothing is chaining me anymore …

Pulling me down….

 Except your love….

 That chains me to you….

 And your eyes….

Which bind me to you…

Swap your fingers on my forehead lines….

Which you draw by your words…

 Everyday…

you write a new line…

 You draw it…

 You carve it…

 You date it…

 lift with your hand…

 the mantle of slavery….

Help me to remove it, thread by thread…

 undress me…

 undress me…

from all the ropes of their authorities …

your authority… over me

 free me…

 free me …

to burrow through the levant rock…

 parked in your soul…

and to dissolve the submission of the women of the east

taken with every breath…

 kiss my mouth…

 take your time…

and give me more time to demolish…

the castles of prohibition…

 from saying what I want…

 when I want to…

to break the defenses… of my panic, hesitation and confusion

 explore my soul…

 its wilds…

 its depths…

 its hills…

what no one noticed before…

what no one paid any attention to…

 and tell me…

 about me…

 inside of me…

 and about you…

 among my lapses…

 which were before you…

 and my dreams…

which one day will be mine…

 and yours…

ours…

only….

don’t judge me of what I’ve committed…

or what I intend to do…

but what we’re going to streak together…

 in our unknown path…

minute by minute….

 love me…

 chain me…

 set me free…

 pull me closer..

free me and your…

free us…

 you’ll love a new woman….

 every moment…

create from me a prettier female…

 every hour…

every moment…

 so I can love you…

 every moment..

 again and anew…
